well, it could be different

AG Kultur, Propaganda und Randale

4 July 2026 16:00 – 5 July 2026 19:00
As part of OUT/SIDE/IN, the Culture, Propaganda, and Riot Working Group of Die Linke Neukölln explores borders as political, historical, and social constructs. We do not view borders as a fixed separation between the outside and the inside, but rather as contested spaces where history, identity, and belonging are negotiated.
At the heart of our contribution is the question of how borders shift, solidify, dissolve, or are redrawn over time, and what power dynamics, conflicts, and histories are inscribed within them. Borders are not natural lines, but rather the result of violence and resistance. This concerns not only territorial borders, but also social and symbolic demarcations: Who belongs, and who is excluded?
Our contribution combines political visual and knowledge work with artistic approaches, opening up a space where borders become visible and tangible in their historical mutability. We invite all visitors not to accept borders as a given, but to understand them as changeable and to engage in a conversation about what a world without isolation might mean.
