Silence is the gentle murmur of the Spree, carrying with it the laughter of children and the cries of crows. Silence is the clacking of shoes on pavement on a Friday night. Silence is the train ride in the morning when no one talks, yet you hear the whole city waking up.
The sound of the city weaves itself through architectural contours, the movements of people and traffic noises. As long as we're in harmony with our surroundings, we hardly hear these sounds.
Urban silence does not exist in isolation, but manifests itself visually within the city: in crowded squares, empty corners and busy backyards. Silence has its own sound, you just have to learn to listen.

Biography
Elena Dorn
In her works, Elena Dorn (*1990 in Aschaffenburg) plays with memory, which does not have to be her own, and creates works with a staged narrative.
