Living in a metropolis means to be constantly exposed to people and noise. How can we individually and collectively learn to achieve inner stillness? To reduce the onslaught of stimuli, we can try to focus on our individual senses.
Silesense is an inner silence that, with practice, can be reached through all our senses. Individually, we will experience three different sensory stimuli at three stations and briefly describe their effects afterward. Through auditory channels, we will shift from impression to expression, transforming a Berlin S-Bahn journey into a soundscape using our voices. Afterwards the silence will come. We’ll let it permeate and feel it together.

The interactive performance “Silesense” predominantly takes place outdoors, in the courtyard of artist Willi Tomes’ studio located at Hobrechtstrasse 67, 12047 Berlin, in the second backyard.
