Women's* Realities - Resisting Normative Categorizations.

We ask: How do I want to live as a woman*—beyond normative expectations? Where does my inner self end when societal expectations of the patriarchal system have long since taken root there? How can artistic practice open up spaces where these expectations are not reproduced, but rather shifted, broken down, and renegotiated?
On view are works by neighbours* developed within the multimedia art project by StoP Neukölln: “Feminine* Realities of Life – Resistance Against Normative Categorizations.”
The personal is political! The exhibition is a feminist practice of self-empowerment and collective visibility. Its starting point is the experience that women’s* bodies, female* life trajectories, and feminized identities are constantly measured, evaluated, and limited—spatially, socially, and symbolically. These boundaries are not neutral. They are political, historically inscribed, and deeply interwoven into the relationship between the inner and the outer.
