Softcore Intervention is an immersive installation by four artists working across sculpture, text, sound, and light. The work explores the fragile border between trust and disgust, and how experiences of violence can live both inside and outside the body.
The project emerged from conversations around sexual assault; one of the most widespread forms of violence, yet one of the least openly confronted. For centuries, it has been normalized, silenced, or absorbed into private shame. We began asking ourselves what it means to speak about something so common, yet so rarely held collectively. If we do not create spaces to face it, how can anything begin to shift?
What happens inside us when disgust appears in a place where we once felt trust? Visitors are invited to enter slowly. To touch. To listen. To notice their own bodily reactions: withdrawal, protection, curiosity, empathy. The work does not aim to resolve trauma, but to create a space of witnessing; where contradictions can coexist.
The expected gesture is intimate and slightly uncomfortable; a meeting point between tension and softness. This physical interaction becomes a quiet ritual: an encounter with one’s own hesitation, curiosity, or care.
Softcore Intervention is built on balance: discomfort and access, friction and invitation. It asks how we respond when trust and disgust exist at the same time; and what becomes possible if we stay with that tension with empathy instead of turning away.

The project is developed in consultation with Larissa Hassoun, a counselor specializing in sexualized violence, harassment, and discrimination, to ensure responsible trigger awareness and care within the visitor experience.
