Porous Bodies
Sonne im Schacht
3 July 2026 19:00 – 5 July 2026 19:00
Porous Bodies explores the permeability of identity, space, and matter. The works oscillate between figuration and dissolution. Bodies appear fragmented, distorted, or in transition, as if constantly reforming or disintegrating.
Influenced by urban structures and the rawness of city environments, hybrid figures emerge that feel both vulnerable and resistant. Surface and depth merge, paint seeps, forms rupture, boundaries become porous.
The works negotiate the tension between control and loss of control, between inner states and outer shells. The body is not understood as a closed entity, but as an open system – shaped by influences, memories, and surroundings.

Biography
Sonne im Schacht
Sonne im Schacht lives and works in Berlin-Neukölln. His artistic practice developed over many years in the urban public space and is shaped by an ongoing engagement with visibility, audience, and social context. In recent months, his focus has increasingly shifted into the studio.
His current works consist of large-scale paintings that explore figuration, identity, and inner states. They are characterized by a reduced color palette, distorted physiognomies, and a visual language that oscillates between clarity and disruption. The human body does not appear as a closed entity, but rather as a carrier of inscribed internal and external influences.
