"Between brushed strokes and drumbeats: where light embraces the imaginary" brings dance, calligraphy and taiko together for the first time, united by the magic of leaving things blank. With deeply resonating bass sounds, the taikos (Japanese drums) grasp the tension and open up space for subtle dynamics between dance and brushstrokes. In a microcosm of colour, sound and movement, we explore "Ma" (間 - Japanese: gap, space, pause) and "Liu Bai " (留白- Chinese: leaving blank) - in interaction with the hustle and bustle on Karl Marx Strasse. We embark on a journey of discovery and rearrange sounds, wind, people, animals and things - with paper, ink, drums, brushes, wooden sticks and the human body!
