In what ways is translation transforming now that the era of the Anthropocene is coming to an end? There is discussion about how artificial intelligence automates translation, imposing the accelerated pace of probability and algorithm. "Traduttore traditore", once traitors, humanoid translators now position themselves as accomplices and use machines to keep up with the frenzied dynamics. Simultaneously, transdisciplinary forms of collective translation are emerging as an escape route from this binary scheme by confronting the organic brain with the cybernetic. In an act of collective reading and translation, we will explore the potentials of transferring texts from one language to another in the era of digitalization and democratization of translation. This will involve authors from the Latin American diaspora in Berlin and translators from the literary magazine alba.lateinamerika lesen. Through the installation of the artist collective Mazenett Quiroga, we reflect on space and the artistic practice of relocating oral histories from the Amazon into urban ecosystems.
