"Build to Bond" is a collective building process and project, that seeks to unite communities and civic society through dynamic, site-specific, time-based reversible ephemeral installations using bricks and recycled materials through collective designing and building.

Combining transformative and adaptable public programs, "Build to Bond" revitalizes thematic focuses, providing the community with temporary theaters for diverse public dialogues on relevant topics, further strengthening the social glue that binds communities together.

"Build to Bond" invites audiences to engage in a harmonious interplay of permanent and ephemeral elements in architecture and social discourse.

Our action is about to trace the pulse of the modern city, using bricks as a medium to blend individual heartbeats into a collective rhythm. This is not only an architectural intervention but a profound dialogue about community, culture, and society. At this unique intersection, the urban sculpture we collectively construct is not only a collective practice but also an exploration of humanity, inclusivity, and sustainability. Through the continuous flow, this initiative constructs a bond that transcends materiality and space, ensuring that the city's voices are permanently preserved on this interactive stage, inspiring more for community engagement, cultural dialogue, and environmental awareness.

The during of the action could be around 2-3 hours. The public will be invited to participate our actions by moving bricks to create temporary open relation spaces. There will be improvisational dance interspersed and the process will be registered and during the construction, the sound of building with the bricks will be recorded in segments, eventually forming a sound work.

Amber Zhang, Yuchen Xie, Zhenru Liang

Zhenru Liang and Amber Zhang are a newly formed collective duo with aligned yet individual artistic paths and spirits. Yuchen Xie is a dancer and performer who views dance as an introspective journey influenced by Chinese philosophy and Taoist ideas, integrating the notion of movement as spiritual calligraphy.

Their collaborative work will be a dance of structure and narrative, where buildings and spaces become stages for storytelling and activism. Coming together, they critique societal norms and environmental policies, pushing the boundaries of what is conventionally expected in art and architecture.
