Connection Core: "Heart Box"
Carla Nunes
4 July 2026 20:00–20:30
In the performance “Heart Box,” the artist Carla Nunes carries a large red anatomical heart. In front of the audience, she explores its contents and reacts to them emotionally.
The objects that she discovers inside the heart together with the audience are accompanied by strong emotions, which are expressed outwardly through Nunes’ reactions.
Whether it is complete self-control or losing oneself in emotion, the artist’s experience is inseparably connected to the experience of her own body and its functions.
The showing of emotions is intended to evoke associations and allow the audience to participate in them. What connects us are our reactions and associations, even if they differ from one another.
Can the boundaries between artist and viewer dissolve?
Will the heart change through the active participation of the audience?
People are invited to place something inside the heart or exchange something within it. Whether through direct interaction with the artist or simply through their presence - the audience influences what unfolds.
