To take a different route home
is an experimental performance score, as written and composed for the Wackeler Organ situated at the Ev. Brüdergemeine Berlin-Neukölln. Physically interactive, the piece invites audience members to physically engage with the vibrations of the Organ in a wide open space.
Audience members will be given earplugs to wear for the performance, to heighten the sensation of the Organ's vibrations and to highlight the haptic nature of the piece: in order to experience vibration in a more nuanced light.

Biography
Ben Glas
Ben Glas (*1992) is a US born Berlin-based composer. With his ephemeral compositions, Glas' work challenges preconceived notions between passive listening and active listening. In search of open musical forms and pragmatic listening perspectives, Glas' compositions focus on the realms of subjective perception and cognition, using acoustics, psychoacoustics and space as tools for sound composition. His work has been exhibited and performed internationally, including at the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art (PICA), the Radiophrenia Festival in Glasgow, the Soundwave Biennial (SF) and the Czong Institute for Contemporary Art (CICA). He recently received his Master of Arts in Sonic Studies from the UdK.
