5 July 2026 13:00–17:00
Halbconnection invites participants from diverse cultural backgrounds to gather around a long, communal table set outdoors. Guests are encouraged to bring food and stories connected to their own traditions. Sharing a meal becomes a social and performative act: personal memories, tastes, and narratives circulate openly in public space. For a moment, strangers become guests, and public space turns intimate.
As the meal unfolds, the tablecloth transforms into a collective artwork. Guided by multidisciplinary artists Won Park and Mila Starosta, participants take part in a cyanotype performance, using the Berlin summer sun as an active collaborator. Hands, arms, body parts, and everyday objects brought by participants are placed on the fabric and exposed to sunlight. The cyanotype process captures traces of presence rather than fixed images. Movement, contact, and shared moments leave ephemeral imprints, making bodies normally invisible in public space momentarily visible. The resulting tablecloth carries overlapping traces of time, connection, and shared experience.
Halbconnection explores borders as fluid and porous, where public and private life intersect. Through shared eating, storytelling, and the cyanotype process, ordinary places become temporarily intimate. Traces of contact, accumulation, and chance interactions highlight how identities and relationships are formed, not through rigid definitions, but through shared experience and transformation.

Biography

halbkunst in collaboration with Won Park and Mila Starosta

halbkunst is a collective founded by four international women who share a passion for bringing people together around a dinner table, through art, food, and shared stories. They organize events in unconventional spaces, questioning the boundaries between public and private. For 48h Neukölln, halbkunst hosts two artists, Won Park and Mila Starosta, leading a collective cyanotype printing performance.
Won Park (she/her) works across moving image and installation, investigating how what is buried or forgotten continues to structure the visible world, folding the spiritual, the political, and the ethical into a single terrain.
Mila Starosta (they/them), works with photography and experimental video, on themes of queerness, fever dreams, rituals and Slavic folklore.
