Alignments presents two photographic still life works displayed in hand-crafted steel frames that function as sculptural elements within the pieces themselves. The works explore the boundary between inside and outside through objects drawn from everyday, spiritual, and bodily practices.

The Magus (2025) shows a ritual arrangement centered on “The Magus” card from the Thoth Tarot deck. It is accompanied by objects representing the four elements and the Minor Arcana: Palo Santo (fire), a copper vessel (water), a knife (air), and pyrite (earth). The Tarot is approached here as an accessible symbolic system historically connected to Kabbalistic thought and still widely used today as a tool for reflection and personal insight.

Obsidian (2024) depicts a snake, obsidian stones, and a metal ring arranged within a frame engraved with an Ouroboros motif. The obsidian forms reference so-called Yoni eggs, objects used in alternative body-based healing and mindfulness practices. The snake evokes cyclical processes of transformation and renewal.

The steel frames mark a physical boundary between image and space while also functioning as a permeable threshold. Rather than presenting boundaries as divisions, the works approach them as relational zones where material, symbolism, and embodied experience intersect.
