the interweaving becomes ever more intimate

Bettina Lehfeldt

28 June 2024 19:00 – 30 June 2024 19:00
Looking for urban silence.
“I look for the peace and quiet of the city in backyards, parks, green oases and enjoy the tender buds, bushes and trees, nature that temporarily swallows up the noise and distractions of the city.”
Withdrawal, emptiness, space for thoughts. Peace, nature, hidden, fragrant, mysterious, calming, delicate, quiet, touching, gentleness, relaxation.
These are Bettina Lehfeldt's associations with her very quiet and reduced work in acrylic on canvas. The canvas remains visible and serves as a design element. The bright, transparent overlays break up the brush structures and color areas and give the impression of delicate flowers or plants.

Biography

Bettina Lehfeldt

Bettina Lehfeldt works abstractly in acrylic on canvas, exploring the questions in her painting: "How far can I go in reduction and still remain painterly? What emotions and meanings do colors convey in their interplay?" It is an exploration of color, form, and surface. This approach aims to appear playful but is executed with focus and control. Each placement is a decision that can either change, disrupt, or enrich everything. It is a quest for freshness and brightness, for light, clarity, and tranquility.
