Bethlehemskirche am Richardplatz
The former village church at Richardplatz was built around 1435 as a simple hall church. During the Thirty Years' War, the church suffered severe damage, however its plinth and choir survived. In the following centuries, the remains were continually extended, expanded and remodelled. From 1737, refugees from Bohemia shared the church with local parishioners. Later, the Rixdorf village church was completely entrusted to the Bohemian community, who gave it a new name in memory of the Bethlehem Chapel in Prague. The interior of today's church is very simple and has excellent acoustics. In summer, visitors can also enjoy the cool inside and the shady garden.
