We are a group of contemporary female artists in the heart of Neukölln. With our studio, we have created a creative space where we dedicate ourselves to the process of artistic creation.

For 48h Neukölln, we invite you to our studio to get to know this magical place and to participate in workshops or simply to observe.

KM35 "Recontextualizing Humor"
(Kathryn Williamson, Multimedia Installation, Fri 7-10 pm Sat & Sun 4-7pm)

In her studio the artist will create an installation of video, sound, sculpture and photographic documentation that reexamines silence and public space. Her time based works explore a juxtaposition of materials, images, and sounds that pose questions about the limits of public space, how we navigate it, and the dichotomy that exists between silence and sound.

KM35 "Walk"
(Maria Koch, Video Installation, Fri 7-10 pm Sat & Sun 4-7pm)

The artist presents a video on a wall in the backyard, featuring her barefoot walk across an agricultural field in Italy.

The video explores the theme of pain—how intense pain can be at the place where we are, so that we take huge burdens on us, to leave them. Somehow the way we have behind us, is a mirror of the suffering we where in.

KM35 "Tempel - a Musical Journey Inward"
(Helga Elsner Torres, Workshop, Sat & Sun 5-7pm)

In her artistic journey, listening to music while painting was forbidden.
Yet music has always been her companion in the "artistic creation."

In this tour, Helga Elsner Torres will share her studio playlist and engage participants in a discussion about the influence of music and sounds on intimate creative processes. Silent disco headphones will be provided, and she will conclude by explaining the themes of her recent projects.
