It is a contemporary dance piece that addresses the concept of silence in relation to the personal migratory experience. It questions the transformation that occurs in terms of identity when coming from one culture and settling in another, where language and forms of communication are different. Sound and silence become more evident. The sounds are different, and silence is a more recurrent presence. Unable to interact with the same ease, not understanding the language, not being familiar with the behaviors of this new place; is silence a new place of enunciation? Silence reflects a barrier in communication but also fosters a state of openness to the environment. Absence allows for listening and observation. What does this silence enable in urban space? In what ways do these forms of interaction - or lack thereof - allow for a relationship with the environment? What value is attributed to silence in urban space? Is silence subjective? Are there cultures that promote urban silence more than others? Is the absence of sound a possibility?
