28 June 2024 19:00 – 30 June 2024 19:00
A bench, a glowing church window, the most beautiful picture in a museum. In cemeteries, parks or the furthest corner of a café. They exist, these so-called ‘third’ places, neither commercial nor private, where you can capture the now, where you can listen to the sound of silence for a moment.
FRANK* & friends is planning a painterly and graphic realisation of such small islands, and would like to create just such a place with this contribution. A place that allows visitors
to step out of space and time, take a deep breath and watch dancing soap bubbles. For the latter - the soap bubbles and deep breathing - two hands-on activities are planned for young and old. In addition to an exhibition that focuses on the lightness of stopping time in the midst of the urban hustle and bustle.

Biography

FRANK* and friends

The FRANK* network of female painters will be represented by 3 members and 4 artist friends. The FRANK* painters Isabel Friedrich, Eva Schwab and E. M. C. Collard, who have dedicated themselves to magical realism in very different ways, have invited us. They include Irene Hardjanegara with her meditative, minimalist ink drawings, which she sees as a daily exercise; the multimedia, narrative, subtle and creepy artist Monika Romstein, whose work seems to describe a loss of reality; Eun-Joo Shin, who achieves a delicacy in her figurative oil paintings that is usually found in watercolours; and Dirk Krecker, who illuminates the concept of science fiction in his collages, typewriter drawings, music performances and texts.
