These photographs show street scenes at night in Berlin.
They are partly deserted, deserted areas and squares that seem strange to the viewer despite their aesthetic beauty. The noisy and eventful surroundings during the day slip into relaxation mode. The long exposure times of up to an hour radiate a deep sense of calm. By dispensing with color, attention is focused on the essentials. The subjects and lighting are not changed during the shoot. The stillness of the city becomes an aesthetic experience.
