OUT / SIDE / IN – Neu-Sprengung* of a World
Fabian Kochendoerfer
3 July 2026 19:00 – 5 July 2026 19:00
My work engages with the festival theme OUT/SIDE/IN through the most radical imaginable threshold: the self-induced collapse of a world order. The mushroom cloud symbolizes the Neu-Sprengung of existing systems – an external event that not only destroys, but simultaneously dissolves order, security, and meaning. The mushroom cloud represents the Neu-Sprengung of established orders – deliberately created chaos, not as a final state, but as a transitional space between the old and a new world order.
The people dancing hand in hand around the explosion are deliberately ambivalent. They embody hope, community, and belief in a better future, yet also ignorance of the irreversible consequences of their own actions. The image references real human processes in which societies sacrifice their own supporting structures – out of fear, ideology, or belief in progress – while believing they have control over the new beginning.
Inside and outside do not appear as opposites, but as interwoven spaces: the “outside” of the explosion directly affects the “inside” of the community. Transformation does not occur from outside or inside alone, but in the dangerous in-between, where self-destruction and creation happen simultaneously.
OUT/SIDE/IN is thus revealed as a state of radical openness: boundaries lose their stability, certainties crumble, and a new world emerges only at the cost of what was previously sacrificed.
*“Neu-Sprengung” is a term created by me to describe the deliberate, radical breaking of an existing order in order to enable a new world order. “Neu-Sprengung” describes consciously generated chaos as a transitional space between the old and the new order.
I present my works in a virtual 3D online exhibition, where visitors can interactively view and explore the images.

Biography
Fabian Kochendoerfer
Fabian Kochendoerfer, a visionary in instant film art since 2000, unveils the truth through his distinctive style, developed over two decades.
“In my search for the truth and what is real, I scratch the surface and discover there is ‘nothing’ behind it. Now, I want to peel away the skin of reality, expose the matrix, and show that the world is nothing but an illusion,” he says.
“My art makes life worth living.”
A reminder of the universe’s abundant beauty, his work is both profound and awakening.
“The world is an illusion. Life is a dream. Wake up!”
– Fabian Kochendoerfer.
He holds a diploma from the Merz Academy in Germany and a Master of Arts from the University of Portsmouth in England.
