"Transformations," symbolically shows processes of life and impermanence as well as the in-between. The German word "Wandlungen" signals movement on the one hand and change on the other. Just as the caterpillar develops inside the cocoon into a butterfly, which leaves the protective shell and moves outward as an independent being. Life is a continuum of different situations in which the inner and outer influence each other reciprocally. Our birth shapes us; the way out is a necessary must to live. A process that is inscribed within us and yet is unique for each being.
We act on the outside, but what does it look like on the inside? Moods and feelings influence our actions. Clothing gives us a certain aura, even though it may look completely different on the inside. I do not understand the transitions between inside and outside as boundaries, but as zones of permeability and I try to view this from different perspectives.
