A childhood memory of cable-laced landscapes on car trips between Poland and Germany serves as a starting point to explore post-socialist aesthetics as projection screen, material, and cultural link.

Everyday objects and technological relics come together in a sculptural arrangement, forming a landscape that becomes a carrier of nostalgia and longing.

Biography

Claudia Redka

Claudia Redka studies fine arts at the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin and holds a master's degree in theater studies. Influenced by thinkers of queer theory and poststructuralist philosophy, her art deals with verbal and nonverbal communication processes in a cross-media manner. In the interaction of materials and techniques, she finds mediaspecific properties and their deformations, omissions, and gaps that arise during the transfer of information. The focus is on connections, tensions, and relationships between objects and people, the space in between, and the impossibility to say everything.
