3 July 2026 21:00–22:00
“Re III” is the third and final part of Martina Jurak's performative cycle named “Passing” that presents urban problematic through an interdisciplinary approach. Its artistic research was located in Neukölln, in the vicinity of the newly built controversial part of the A100 highway. The outdoor exploration included movement improvisation on construction sites and video and sound recordings that were used in the first two performances in collaboration with sound artists.

Each piece examines new constructions in Berlin to uncover the connectedness of artistic and living circumstances and questions rapid building developments. In this way, architecture, textures, and objects inspired site-specific choreographies and formed new concepts for the incoming staged work.

“City in the body, Bodies of the city” is a subtitle that refers to incorporating urban research into choreography with the approach of Japanese Butoh dance to open awareness of environmental states and transitions. It is about confronting a troubled relation between mechanical structures and parts of nature, which is reflected on the artist's performative body. The performance process will be shifting from the outer to inner, letting them merge and create a surreal world with the use of specific lights, experimental electronic sound, and moving body.

The piece is planned to start outdoors, on Hatun-Sürücü-Brücke above the highway A100, as a direct dialogue with the urban challenges, and to end at Dammweg 216. Through the event, the audience is invited to join a performative walk and step into transfigured space to explore what else the common city could be.
