Second skin – identity in motion
Hilkka Geyssel
3 July 2026 19:00 – 5 July 2026 19:00
In her current series of works, Hilkka Geyssel presents figurative paintings of tattooed people, whose bodies can be read as a second skin and as carriers of personal as well as collective identity messages. Here, tattoos appear not only as ornamental signs, but as a visual language through which inner experiences, memories, and a sense of belonging are expressed outwardly. They mark transitions, ruptures, and new beginnings, making identity visible as an ongoing process.
