Berlin Skies [free], World Premiere

An installation by zweifrauentanzen
Berlin Sky is the third collaborative work by the collective zweifrauentanzen and is dedicated to documentary perspectives on women living on the streets. Based on conversations, encounters, and fragmentary narratives, the work creates a polyphonic visual and auditory exploration of the realities of life that we often overlook in everyday urban life.
The work is created and presented in the public space of Neukölln—a place where different ways of life, social tensions, and forms of coexistence come into direct contact. The “sky” of our work is not a romantic metaphor, but a symbol of vulnerability as well as of visibility and invisibility at the same time.
The installation combines documentary material with choreographic and spatial arrangements. Voices, images, and bodily movements interact with one another, creating a space for listening and attentiveness. The work explores how women’s experiences of exclusion, vulnerability, and self-assertion under the open sky can be made artistically visible without appropriating them.

As a video installation, *Berliner Himmel* will be accessible throughout the entire duration of the festival, inviting visitors to engage with the theme at their own pace and on their own terms. Its ongoing presence in the space serves as a critical commentary: stories that would otherwise quickly fade from view remain visible here.
