“As is widely known, our travel agency Freiheit Tours has served for centuries in the name of order, orientation, and moral hygiene. While others sink into the chaos of the present, we show the world with a steady hand: restrictive winds bring the richest harvest. With the generous support of the Hungarian government, we guide lost souls back onto the righteous path and carry torches through the swamps of contemporary decadence. Our duo specializes in successful performances, dignified ceremonies, strictly non-avant-garde art—and, of course, in absolute freedom from irony.”
Fiona Amtlich & Wolfgang Ehrlich
Freiheit Tours is an artist duo formed by stage director Panni Néder and puppeteer Mátyás Tóth. Founded during a Berlin protest against the banning of Budapest Pride, the Hungarian duo works with satire to respond to authoritarian narratives and ideological language patterns. The performances work in public and community-based contexts such as demonstrations and exhibition openings. Each piece is developed in direct response to its site, using local context as material.
For 48 Stunden Neukölln, we develop a site-specific performance that imagines Neukölln as a fictional, rigid, conservative city where identity is fixed. Through our characters, we set up a temporary guidance center, presented as a safe space for people perceived as polluted by fluid identities, queerness, or dissent. Visitors are instructed on how to become the ideal citizen by undergoing a citizen check, following orders, and accepting one correct way of life.

Biography
Panni Néder, Mátyás Tóth
Freiheit Tours is an artist duo formed by stage director Panni Néder and puppeteer Mátyás Tóth. Founded during a Berlin protest against the banning of Budapest Pride, the Hungarian duo works with satire to respond to authoritarian narratives and ideological language patterns. They use exaggeration and propagandistic rhetoric as raw artistic material, combining elements of theater, performance, puppetry, and choreographed interaction. Freiheit Tours carefully navigate the gap between artistic action, political satire, and social intervention and uses exaggerated authority and humor to create temporary spaces. In these settings, power, conformity, and belonging become negotiable, presented in a way that is intentionally disturbing, accessible, and entertaining.
