4 July 2026 19:00 – 5 July 2026 19:00
In the film project “Young Meets Old in the Harzer Kiez,” children explore their neighborhood through filmmaking and encounter people from different generations. They interview, among others, Katharina Rottmann from Endorphina Backkunst, the educators at the ecological playground Wilderübe, staff members of the Fernheizwerk Neukölln, Gernot Zessin from the Kubus Center, Michael Lind from the local supermarket Nahkauf, politicians Jochen Biedermann and Martin Hikel, as well as long-time residents of the Harzer Kiez.

In the process, the children document their experiences, reflect on differences between past and present, and strengthen their sense of self-efficacy, teamwork, and empathy in a playful way. The resulting film highlights the diversity of the Harzer Kiez, fosters intergenerational exchange, and makes the children’s everyday lives visible. A vivid portrait of community, participation, and empowerment.
