Mahlzeit is a typical German expression used both as a greeting and as a way to wish someone “enjoy your meal.” We serve a "dinner" while exploring borders, social frames, hierarchies, and fixed roles.
Mahlzeit unfolds as a series of individual place settings that together form one common table. Each setting is a small staging: a plate, a chair, a tablecloth, and a “dinner.” Teenage artists create their own sharp, miniature, sticky dinner sets and meals, shaped by their personal and artistic positions. They bring their unique experiences to this context, exploring the duality of existence as migrants and as
young adults whose voices often remain marginalized.
We invite you to the table, to think together. During the event, artists “serve” their meals, experiences, and practices at the table to guests and visitors. The gathering unfolds without a fixed plan, without predefined roles, without “main” guests, and without strict rules — all as a way to step away from the familiar flow of “starter–main–dessert.”
