Just one more moment.

Five more minutes.

Not today.

In an increasingly chaotic, loud, and fast-paced world, withdrawal and isolation can become spaces of comfort, reflection, and recovery.

Yet, prolonged isolation destabilizes perception: retreat turns into procrastination.

The longer one withdraws from the outside world, the harder it becomes to distinguish reality from opinion or thought. What once offered protection becomes a dangerous space in which repetition produces rigid patterns of thinking and excludes other realities. Closed worlds emerge in which people block out a shared reality.

"Not Today" is an accessible multimedia installation that invites the audience to explore isolation, calm, procrastination, and anxiety. Differently sized, cell-like structures (approx. 6 sqm), made of latex and branches, evoke womb-like spaces or biological cells and refer to protection, origin, and vulnerability. Visitors can enter a cell and temporarily isolate themselves: a compressed, sound-filled space with only a few concealed lines of sight.

Through the circular arrangement of the cells, the space between them gains particular significance.
It forms an in-between zone that is simultaneously interior and exterior, perceivable only from within isolation. Although each cell offers a different perspective, all are oriented toward the same hidden vegetation at the center. This shared void points to the paradox of isolated subjectivities approaching a single, invisible reality.

Balancing comfort and unease, the installation invites reflection on how isolation alters perception and how protective boundaries can turn into mechanisms of exclusion or (life-)preservation.
