Toilet Geschichten explores experiences of migration, loneliness, and visibility within the urban environment. The project takes public toilets as a starting point—spaces usually perceived as purely functional infrastructure, yet often containing surprisingly direct forms of communication. Messages written on walls, spontaneous drawings, and political comments reveal an informal layer of urban language that usually remains invisible in public space.
Building on these observations, the work develops an installation composed of photographs, objects, and performative elements. Fragile sculptural forms made from everyday materials, figures of invisible labor, and photographic traces of personal experience interact with symbols of hope and transformation. Moving between intimacy and public space, personal memory and collective experience, the project opens a space in which overlooked places of the city become carriers of stories, emotions, and quiet forms of resistance.
