Reality and the virtual, the human and technology, nature and artificiality— all these previously existing boundaries are being crossed in order to assume new positions and roles and to gain a new perspective on the limits that existed up to that point. Reality is increasingly being filled with virtuality, and the virtual is becoming ever more real. Humans are being replaced by technology, while technology is becoming increasingly human.
These phenomena of crossing boundaries create possibilities, but also uncertainties and dangers.

Im oMo artspace, opened in Neukölln in 2016, the two visual artists Sarah Oh-Mock and Bongjun Oh run their studios, while also regularly using the space for exhibitions, artist talks, and video screenings by other artists and guest curators. They place particular emphasis on transcultural encounters and dialogue between artists. For this year’s festival, they present works by artist friends whom they have met at very different stages of their artistic careers. The works deal especially with the crossing of boundaries. Visitors and participating artists are warmly invited to overcome linguistic and cultural barriers and to get to know one another through the exhibited works and conversations.
