The Body That Carries Me starts with an intimate and constant object: the suitcase that has accompanied me throughout my life. It is not just a container — it is a body that has always sat alongside mine. A portable territory in which I store all the different versions of myself.
By plastering the suitcase, I immobilise it. I transform it into a rigid, silent capsule — a petrified organism that no longer travels. The video restores movement: through video mapping, fragments of my body appear to enter and exit the suitcase, trying to fit in but being expelled. Light becomes breath.
The suitcase becomes a permeable border — a space of passage where inside and outside contaminate each other. The suitcase is an extension of the body. The body as emotional baggage. The suitcase as a potential country.
