Sound work with object / QR access
Countless short videos of drone interceptions circulate online. A drone appears in the frame, is detected, tracked and ultimately destroyed. Crosshairs, tracking frames, schematic explosions – images of a precise technological hunting ritual.
The dramaturgy of these sequences is almost always the same: detection, approach, collision. In the seconds before impact everything condenses into a moment of maximum tension. It is hard to look away.
What is striking, however, is what is missing: sound.
Many of these recordings exist without usable audio. The visual event therefore appears cool and abstract, while the acoustic dimension of the hunt remains invisible: locating, listening, pursuing, the tense anticipation of contact.
This is where Der Fang begins. In the exhibition space, visitors first encounter only a drone-like object. A QR code attached to it opens access – via smartphone and headphones – to a sound work that shifts the interception scenario into another perceptual layer.
The sound follows the logic of the hunt: signals, frequencies and movements in space condense into an acoustic dramaturgy of search, approach and impact.
What appears in the image as a technical event becomes a physical experience through listening. The action moves from the outer airspace, through a medial interface, into the inner space of perception.
