By drawing a curtain, I conceal information. Something is held back. What remains visible? In the act of drawing the curtain, its surface is laid bare and becomes an image in its own right. How does it differ from what it conceals? To what extent is it predictable? Who has access to it – and when?
The curtain acts as a threshold: it grants or denies access to light, sight, privacy or information. Its presence transforms the space it occupies. Opening and closing become gestures that evoke playfulness, control and surprise. I explore how the tension between inside and outside can be activated by an installation of curtains screen-printed with designs.
The spaces here are private, intimate and require viewers to possess a ‘visa’, to give and receive consent – a scene from which one can exit at any moment by closing the curtain

Nathalie Scattolon
Nathalie Scattolon is a French artist working across multiple media. Her practice includes analogue photography, drawing, silkscreen printing, and installation. Through these mediums, she explores the relationship between image, material, and space. Her projects often emerge from a process-based approach in which traces, layers, and physical materials play a central role.
