Open Contact Improvisation – Participatory Performance
Two dancers will practice contact improvisation in an open performance space for about two to three hours. Visitors are free to come and go at any time.
This is not a fixed show but an open situation that can change through the presence and actions of the people in the room. You are welcome to simply watch, or to take part.
Audience members may interact in different ways. For example, you can create sounds, move between the dancers, gently push or pull, or influence the movement in other ways. Touching the dancers is allowed.
People with experience in contact improvisation are also welcome to join the movement and dance together with the performers.
No dance experience is necessary. Watching is just as welcome as participating.
For those who are unsure how to begin, a few simple example tasks will be available as suggestions. You may follow these prompts or interact freely.
Through these small interactions, the movement and atmosphere of the space continuously shift. The performance becomes a shared improvisation shaped by everyone present.
