Kiez Poetry Open Mic: Neukölln

Alicia Morán

Barrierefreier Zugang
5 July 2026 16:00–18:30
Which voices inhabit the neighborhood of Neukölln? Which things happen in the Kiez that stop once you cross its boundaries?

At this open-mic, everyone is invited to share texts, poems, or short stories about what Neukölln (or other kiez) means to them. Each voice helps create a sonic and poetic map of the space, showing that the boundaries of the Kiez are not fixed but fluid and permeable — and that each person understands the territory and its contours in their own way.

Each participant may express themselves in their own language and has 5 minutes to present their text.

Guiding questions:
What does Neukölln mean to you? What makes Neukölln special? Is it a bubble, a “new colony”? Who inhabits this area? Where do you feel Neukölln begins and ends, and where do these boundaries blur? Which voices, stories, or memories of Neukölln do you carry with you, and which would you like to share? What things happen in the Kiez that cease when one crosses its borders? Which boundaries have you crossed or transformed while living here, and what new forms have emerged as a result? What meanings, memories, and emotions does Neukölln evoke in those who live here?
