"In Private Rooms, Fred Hüning gathers stills from videoclips uploaded to Youporn by private users. The resulting pictures are about sex, but they also reveal the subjects’ humanity via domestic settings and Hüning’s particular cropping, which yields puzzling frames and scenes imbued with subtle humor. In exposing vulnerability and a certain unawareness, the pictures gently nod to Sophie Calle’s The Sleepers."

About the book "Private Rooms" by Fred Hüning:
Pictures, pictures, pictures - the Internet is packed.
But what sense does it make to show the free accessible online images as print on the wall or in books? Artists as Michael Wolf, Doug Rickard or lately Regula Bochsler and Philipp Sarasin have found convincing answers. Well selected and presented in a different context the perspective of the viewer changes and suddenly new questions arise.
Fred Hüning for some of his work also uses found stuff from the Internet. For his series ›private rooms‹ he has made photographs from videoclips, uploaded to YOUPORN by private users. Of course the pictures are also about sex, but through the crops bed, shelf, cabinet, carpet, plush toy or cat get into focus - the private nature of the scenes and locations. And the question about the consequences that the supply of these private recordings to the Internet´s indelible memory may have.
The book comes in the form of a small laptop, and on the keyboard Fred Hüning has placed a clear message. ›private rooms‹ is published in an edition of 150 numbered and signed copies.
