Cosmic Projections

The cosmos, with its majestic, mysterious, untouched and unreachable vastness, has served humanity as an inexhaustible source of inspiration for visions of the future. In the dystopian times of crisis in a world that has become cramped, alienated and fearful, where people can scarcely find the time to dream visions, utopias and hopeful communal fantasies are becoming increasingly blurred and dim. They are being replaced by technocratic indoctrination and dystopian propaganda. The insatiable greed of a few uses this celestial communal space as a projection screen for their fantasies of power. “Proyecciones Cosmicas” is an aesthetic, experimental attempt to reclaim outer space as a canvas for poetry. It is about freeing oneself from the confines of cliché. “Proyecciones Cosmicas” is a live film concert featuring multiple film projections and synthesiser improvisations. 16mm stop-motion animations are projected onto the space using analogue technology. Sound compositions are played live on synthesiser modules. Musical sounds from a self-constructed and composed synthesis encounter the cosmos as handmade, photographically created imaginary spaces, reflected in the magic of animation. It is a real-time interplay of light and sound, hands-on animated cinema as a performative format. It is a journey into unknown worlds created by"Analogue Intelligence".

Outside is the cosmos, where a visual journey through light, sound and images stimulates our imagination with its infinite vastness.
Inside is the space, the cinema, the capsule, the performance in which we find ourselves at this moment. Here we are invited to forget the measurement of time and its ticking confinement for this very moment.
