RixYatai CoLab
Rie Chimura & Lorenz Krauth
4 July 2026 15:00–21:00
Rix Yatai enters its second round. Following the encounters during 48 Stunden Neukölln 2025, the project returns this year with an expanded agenda.
A Yatai is a traditional Japanese food cart that moves through the city and typically appears at night. During temporary stops in public spaces, guests gather to sit, eat, drink, and spend time in conversation with the Yatai master. Together with its visitors, the Yatai creates an intimate yet public atmosphere within the urban realm.
The self-built Rix Yatai functions as a vibrant community hub, fostering direct exchange and social proximity. Rix Yatai CoLab is a collaborative laboratory that moves through the streets of Neukölln.
The program with performances, food workshops, readings and music explores the topic OUT/SIDE/IN on Richardplatz and will be published shortly before the festival on Lorenz' (@lorenzkrauth) Instagram.
