My paintings and photographs circle around one question: what happens when we look more closely at the things we think we know? The people around us, the moments we move through every day. I fragment them – through shifting perspectives, breaks in the image, an intuitive sense of colour – not to capture what is there, but to uncover what lies beneath.
Memories and dreamscapes are a constant source of inspiration for me. That threshold where the real and the imagined bleed into one another.
In this series, Through my eyes, I wanted to hold onto exactly those moments. Four works on raw, unprimed canvas – a material that lets light pass through, that breathes. That subtle transparency echoes the floating, elusive quality of the scenes themselves, and draws attention to the fragile within the familiar. Each piece began as a snapshot, then found its way through drawing into something more abstract.
An invitation to wander between dreams, memory and the everyday.

Biography

Anne Kathrin Müller

Anne Kathrin Müller, born 1993 in Osnabrück, works at the intersection of photography and painting. Her images draw from observation, memory and dreams – fragmented, quiet, and often centred around the human body. Personal experience becomes open space.
She studied Architecture at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and Art and Architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Her work has been shown in exhibitions and publications across Europe and beyond. Alongside her artistic practice she works as a set designer, where the same eye for space and atmosphere carries through.
