The entrance of a building in Neukölln is set in motion. Wall sections fold out in all directions, as in the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Graffiti will emerge on the expanded façade.
We invite passers-by, children, tenants, in short anyone who wants to participate in the project to complement and continue the work started by graffiti artists. Paint will be provided.
Together, we will create a work of art that might look like bursting at the seams for 48 hours. The breaking up of fixed architectural façade structures does not only serve aesthetic purposes here but is deliberately extended into social space as an experiment.
Following the project, wearable objects will be sewn based on the resulting works and passed on to dancers and other movers. In this way, choreographies for performative interventions in public space will develop and the painting will return to the street, perhaps to its place of origin, perhaps to other locations. This creates not only a local network of actors but also a connection between different places.
Parts of the façade will be permanently installed in the building entrance.

Biography
Michaela Zimmer
Michaela Zimmer's work deals with the visual translation of movement sequences originating body memory. Anchored as gesture in Zimmer's painting, it is further developed in objects that are activated by others – often dancers.
In this interdisciplinary approach, the visualised gesture becomes the catalyst for collective creative processes.
Performative interventions and choreographies complete the circle.
As well as a working scholarship from Stiftung Kulturfonds, she recently received travel and residency scholarships from the European Union for France and Spain.
In 2023, she received a research grant from the Senate in Berlin.
In addition to numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, she regularly stages collaborative performative interventions in public spaces.
