Wear and Tear

Noa Vetter

Barrierefreier Zugang Barrierefreie Toilette
5 July 2026 14:00–14:30
“Wear and Tear” is less a conventional documentary than a filmic approach to daily urban life in Neukölln. In fragmented sequences, work routines, repetitive movements and casual encounters intersect, superimposed with contrasting images. Deliberate compositions meet unplanned moments, exploring the tension between out / side / in.

The work moves between repetition and rupture, inside and outside, making the dynamics of urban life visible and audible. Calm, clear sequences of images alternate with denser, almost chaotic sequences. These are accompanied by the sounds of the city – conversations, footsteps, traffic and fleeting fragments of noise – which combine to form a multi-layered acoustic layer.

The result is an intense, almost tentative snapshot between individual experience and public space. "Wear and Tear" is not intended as a documentary representation, but as an approach: an act of observing, reacting and moving along, which attempts to make the people, colours and structures of Neukölln tangible in their own time.

On Sunday, 5 July, I will be screening my first short film at the cosy IL KINO in Neukölln (52 seats).
You are warmly invited to gather in the cinema at around 2 pm to watch “Wear and Tear” together. Afterwards, there will be time for discussion – I’d be delighted if you could come along.

Biography

Noa Vetter

My name is Carl Adam Noa Vetter; I am 26 years old and grew up in Kreuzkölln. It was here that I first experienced the defining contrasts of urban life. After completing my degree in Fine Art at the HfG Offenbach am Main, I returned to Berlin in the summer of 2025 to continue my work specifically on urban artistic and spatial issues. My artistic practice spans photography, painting and installation formats, and explores perception, space
and everyday structures.
