The shown video visualizes experiences of transnational identities and examines spatial structures of simultaneously lived affiliations. Mental associations with borders, migration, left-behind homelands, and cultural connections are made visible in drawings and performative actions. The film summarizes a workshop by us – Francesca Ceola and Simone Rueß – at the TU Berlin at the interdisciplinary research center CRC 1265 “Re-Figuration of Spaces.” The workshop was structured like a laboratory. There were sequential tasks and joint reflections. From different disciplinary perspectives, we examined the concepts of "translocal, transnational and hybrid spatial structures" from many angles and broke them down into their various levels of meaning. The changes and mixtures of these conceptual abstractions were not only discussed theoretically, but also made physically and artistically tangible.
With the presentation at the MINTgreen classroom it contrasts the visually and aesthetically captured experiences with artistic interventions in the MINT learning space, where artists explore together with children the spatial structures of the MINT and work together on transitions between boundaries, protection (needs), and cultural coexistence. The film becomes a voice for cohesion and raises awareness of complex biographical backgrounds in times of social upheaval and exclusion.

Biography
Francesca Ceola, Simone Rueß.
In her recent research in Lagos Francesca Ceola examines home-making structures on unstable landscapes. By emphasising the construction elements of homes and the socio-ecologies that support livelihoods, she discusses questions of making home for forcibly displaced individuals and communities.
In her artistic research Simone Rueß records how space is created and perceived through movement, narratives and memories. Her multi-media and participatory projects reflect on urban and social change, biographies, and perspectives through intersectionalities of ability and age. In her long-term project INhabit, Simone Rueß traces visually how mental images of home are influenced by global crises, geopolitical caesura, displacement or migration.
