The In-Between of Everyday Life — Where Inside and Outside Blur

Emily Morey & Anja Bartelt

4 July 2026 10:30–18:00 5 July 2026 10:30–18:00
The In-Between of Everyday Life — Where Inside and Outside Blur, brings together
the practices of Emily and Anja, exploring moments where inner worlds and outer
realities overlap. Their works focus on transitional, everyday moments — familiar
scenes and behaviors that become sites where moods, social roles, and subtle
tensions surface. Rather than presenting clear boundaries, the exhibition
emphasizes fluidity: identities, gestures, and meanings shift, and ordinary situations
reveal something slightly unexpected or off-kilter.

The artists’ process-driven approaches allow intuitive exploration of gesture, texture,
color, and narrative, inviting viewers to sense the interplay of inner experience and
outer life. Together, the exhibition creates spaces to linger in the in-between,
reflecting the everyday as a dynamic, shifting experience — a perspective that
resonates naturally with the festival theme OUT/SIDE/IN.
