'I'm Still Here' is a tribute to my grandmother and her journey with dementia / Alzheimer’s.While much has faded from her memory, her home remains a place of safety and recognition, one of the few constants in her world. Through this series, I seek to honor her presence and preserve her memory even after she forgets. The images depict her home and the progression of her Alzheimer’s, with each picture gradually fading, mirroring the slow erosion of memory. The installation invites viewers to experience her world fading away. As they walk along and take in the blurry images, they’ll get a sense of the gradual loss and fragility that comes with fading memories.
