The Gravity of Amnesia is an immersive installation and durational performance exploring the fading memory of home following migration. In a cold, characterless space in Neukölln, the fragile, life-sized outlines of an Iranian teenager's room are projected onto three walls. The scenography by Shirin Javdani employs the stark contrast between the raw materiality of concrete and the flickering immateriality of the projection to make the fracture of identity tangible.
As the projected image dissolves through digital glitches—symbolizing the onset of amnesia—the performer attempts to salvage the blueprints of her lost city, Tehran, by drawing them in chalk on the Berlin floor. It is a futile struggle of somatic memory against the disappearance of one’s own history. The project invites visitors to witness an intimate process of dissolution where the boundaries between inside and outside, past and present, blur.

Biography
Niusha Nasim, Shirin Javdani
We are an interdisciplinary duo exploring the intersections of space, body, and memory. Shirin Javdani as the lead concept creator and scenographer, focuses on the "architecture of absence," designing psychogeographic spaces that reflect the state of transition. Joining her is Niusha Nasim, a performer who translates spatial dissonance into a physical language.
Together, they transform personal experiences of migration into universal installations. Their work investigates how environments shape our identity and what remains when those places are physically or mentally lost. By merging digital projections with somatic performance, they create a reflective space for the audience to witness the fragile process of remembering and forgetting.
