Starting from the festival theme, which understands borders as fluid in-between spaces and describes inside and outside as an intertwined dynamic, my work explores the boundary surfaces of material, trace, and landscape. The series of ceramic plates emerges through the interaction of clay, glass, metal oxides, and sand—materials that penetrate one another, settle into layers, or push toward the surface.
In this process, small topographical fragments appear that recall cartographic sections: places where internal processes become visible and external influences are inscribed into depth. Each plate shows a different shift of this boundary—sometimes as an opening, sometimes as a condensation, sometimes as erosion.
The works do not understand the boundary as separation, but as an active space of possibility in which transformation takes place. The “outside” becomes visible within the “inside,” while inner movements shape the surface. In this way, the complex entanglement of these two poles becomes materially perceptible and open to new negotiation.

Biography
Elisabed Zautashvili
Elisabed Zautashvili was born in Tbilisi, where she studied architecture at the State Academy of Arts. After working in interior and product design as well as public art, she turned to sculpture through her master’s project at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam.
She currently lives and works in Berlin and has participated in several exhibitions in Tbilisi and Berlin. In her artistic practice, she combines architectural structures with organic forms from nature. Form, texture, and color play a central role in her work. Her sculptures explore tensions between opposites and processes of transformation and renewal, revealing surfaces where internal processes and external influences become visible.
